How to Set the MS Excel XP (2002) Security

Step Description

There are three level of macro virus protection that the MS Excel works.
  • High: Unsigned macros: Macros are automatically disabled, and the file is opened.
  • Medium: Unsigned macros :User is prompted to enable or disable macros.
  • Low: When security it set to low, all macros are treated equally regardless of origin or certificate status. With low security, you receive no prompt or signature validation and macros are automatically enabled. Use this setting only if you are certain that all macros in your files are from trusted sources.

Under each setting on the Security Level tab in the Security dialog box (Tools menu, Macro submenu) under different conditions. Under all settings, if antivirus software that works with Microsoft Office XP is installed and the file contains macros, the file is scanned for known viruses before it is opened.

 You need to set the security level to Medium for all BaRaN Systems Programs.

The first time you attempt to install BSL program, the following dialog will be displayed.

3 Please click OK and from the Tools menu select Macro and then Security option. If Macro is not shown in the Tools menu, please click on the Expand Menu button and the end of the pull down menu.

4 Select the Medium option and click the OK button.

5 From the Start button choose the  Programs and then SQC for Excel option. Double click on the Install.XLS file.

6 Make sure you click the Enable Macros button

7 To make sure that the SQC for Excel is installed correctly, select the option About from the SQC menu.

In Case of testing the product, you will get the following dialog box.
